Happy Birthday- Altenew Challenge

Welcome back! I’m so happy you are here. Today I am sharing a bright and happy eclipse card. This card was inspired by the Altenew’s July Inspiration challenge. The picture is so pretty!

I love those bright colors, and I was so happy with how they came together on my card. I was also very happy to have the chance to use Altenew’s Bold Numerals for an eclipse card.

I decided to use the free gift set from earlier this year to create a small, patterned area. I started out stamping the flowers with Altenew’s Snapdragon, Puffy Heart and Coral Berry ink. I added leaves around the flowers using Parrot, Limeade, Bamboo, and Olive ink. I decided to double stamp the leaf images to create a little depth. I added the centers to the flowers using Marigold, Purple Wine and Ruby Red ink.

Using the Bold Numerals, I cut out the number 18. I made sure to save all of the pieces, so that I could inlay them. I also cut out the 18 from some fun foam.

I made a card base from Gina K Applemint cardstock. Then I added the stamped panel with a dot runner adhesive. I adhered the numbers to the fun foam with a Xyron sticker maker, then add them to the card base with liquid adhesive. I let it dry for a bit, then added the sentiment from Altenew’s Sentiment Strips with Jet Black ink.

This card is so bright in person. I’m not sure I would have picked this color combination myself, but I love it. I’m also really into the double stamping on the leaves.

This card is for my niece, who turns 18 later this summer. I think she’ll like it. Green is her favorite color.

Thanks for stopping by!
