Hello Friday! I am so very happy to see you. My daughter comes home tomorrow for Spring Break. It’s going to be a fabulous weekend!
To celebrate, I’m participating in Lawn Fawnatics challenge # 48. The theme is Inspired by movie, book or song. I needed to make a card for a friend’s Father’s birthday, with fishing and thought immediately of Lawn Fawn’s Dad & Me. Then, I thought of the movie Brother Bear.
I started by stamping the lake, river and mountains from Dad & Me, using masking and still messing up the lake. I stamped it again and fussy cut it to cover up my boo boo. Since I had the mask out, I blended Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks for the sky and grass respectively.
I die cut the mushroom base and cap from Lawn Fawn’s Mushroom House from Distress Watercolor Cardstock and painted them with Altenew watercolors. I die cut the door from Lawn Fawn’s Woodgrain Neutrals and the grass and lock from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I colored the grass with Copic markers, and the lock with Silver Wink of Stella. I had previously colored the bear images from Dad & Me with Copic markers.
Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment from Dad & Me on the card and assembled the pieces using Lawn Fawndamentals glue. I added the bears with foam tape. I stamped Happy Birthday from my free Birthday gift inside.
It’s been awhile since I created a scene like this. I always worry that I take it too far (I actually stopped myself from adding more to the house, or clouds in the sky). I did add Glossy Accents to the window, but that’s a subtle detail. I hope my friend likes it!
Thanks for stopping by!
