Believe in Yourself-Altenew

I’m back again! I hope your week is going well. Today I have another challenge card for your, this one for Altenew’s Inspiration challenge.

The challenge for February is the image below.

Isn’t that a beautiful image? I love the colors.

I happened to order a new set from Altenew during the Build a Flower sale they had. Since I had something new, I decided to use it for the challenge.

These images and sentiment are from the Build a Flower Chrysanthemum set. I started out by stamping the flower with the Rose Petal ink collection (Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, Purple Wine and Cosmic Berry), and the leaves in the three darkest colors from the Sweet Dreams ink collection (Aqualicious, Teal Cave and Galactic Stream). Then I die cut the image. This die set comes with an additional die that cuts out the individual petals so you can “fluff,” them out. I didn’t use that die on this card, but I’ll share a card below where I did).

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the set in Altenew Jet Black ink and masked it off. I used Concord and 9th’s Sketched Stripes with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink for the background. The leaves were added to the card with Scor-Tape, and the flower with foam tape.

The card base is Gina K Design’s Moonlight Fog, with a matching envelope. I added clear Wink of Stella to parts of the flower and leaves, but you can’t see it in these pictures. I was just wondering if I should add some gems or sequins. I’ve kinda gotten away from that habit…

Here is the card where I used the addition die. You can see in the picture that I got a little carried away with my “fluffing,” and it creased the cardstock. But, I love the colors!

I think next time I’ll add a little bit of foam tape, instead of repeatedly folding the petals. I’m going to throw in a picture of the supplies I used, instead of laying it all out here, since this is a bonus card.

I really like the additional die, and how it changes the look of the image. When Altenew had the Build a Flower sale, I really took my time to pick something different and fun. It took me two day to decide! I’m glad I grabbed this set.

Thanks for stopping by!
