Hey there! I’m just popping in real quick to share a card I made for the Pinkfresh Studio’s August challenge. I thought I might participate in more challenges this month, but now it’s August 31st, and this is all I have.
This month the challenge is Floral. I just so happen to have snapped up the Pinkfresh Studio/Altenew collaboration set, Celebrate Us, back in June. I love this image. Seriously. I’ve made three or four cards with it already.
Before I get ahead of myself, here is the inspiration image for the challenge.

I happen to have also acquired the new Concord & 9th inks, so I thought I’d match them to the colors above.

I started out with a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I stamped the image in the upper left corner first, using Ballet Slipper. I worked my way across the middle, using Marmalade and then Sprout. I used Honeysuckle for the bottom left, and Buttercup for upper right (a sort of rainbow).
If you’ve been a blog reader for some time, you know I use Altenew inks, almost exclusively. I am a big fan of their inks. However, I think I might like Concord & 9th’s inks more. I love the way they stamp. It’s so crisp, the first time. I find myself reaching for them first, now.
Ok back to the card 🙂 Once I was done stamping my images. I trimmed the panel down and added it to a note card made from Concord and 9th’s Honeysuckle cardstock.

I used the same Honeysuckle cardstock to die cut the thankful sentiment, three times. I layered them together with liquid adhesive, then added it to the shadow, die cut from MFT’s Silver Sparkle cardstock.
I added the assembled sentiment to the card panel with more liquid adhesive. To finish off the card, I added Studio Katia Silver Glitter gems.
I really love this card is real life. The colors are so vibrant, and the silver isn’t so dark and gray. One day I will figure out how to get decent white balance on my camera.
I hope you guys are holding up. For everyone that has little ones going back to school, take a deep breathe and give yourself grace. We are still in the midst of a pandemic, economic issues and civil unrest, and we all need to the space to deal with that. Thank you for giving me the space to work through this year in my way.
Stay safe, thanks for stopping by,
Nicole

I Love your colours and design. Its such a fresh look. I’m definitely going to CAS your card lol.
I’m lucky enough Sue that my child is no where near school age any more (he’s 32 lol) and my heart goes out to those who do have school aged children. It must be very hard for you all. I kind of know a little what you’re going through as I’ve now not seen my son for nearly 4 months.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous card with us and i hope i can work out how to follow you 😁😁.
Take care, be careful, safe, well and happy. X X Andrea. X X
