Welcome back and I hope you are well! Today I am sharing a card that I am super excited about, and a bonus card.
The cards I am sharing today are for the Stay Crafty With Hero Arts Challenge #4. This week the challenge is Self Care, meaning make something just for you. Something that makes you happy. Hero Arts products are encouraged, but not required.
This challenge was perfectly timed, as I found myself inspired to make a card other than a thank you or encouragement card, for the first time in weeks. I mean, a card idea that came to me before bed, just for fun. Not something specifically for a challenge. The first card I made was the card I dreamed of, but I didn’t use any Hero Arts products. I had some extra backgrounds though, so I started looking through my Hero Arts products and came up with a second card. This card makes me just as happy as the first too.
I’m sorry, it was so cloudy all weekend. This was actually a “sunny,” moment. But, I think the cloudiness makes it a bit easier to see the holographic paper.
I started out making 4 of these backgrounds, splattering watered down Distress Oxide ink onto some Distress watercolor cardstock. I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. Why haven’t I tried this before? I also splattered a little bit of Iridescent watercolor ink from Hero Arts.
I had a scrap of Tonic Studios Holographic cardstock sitting on my desk, so I ran it through my die cutting machine with Hero Arts Butterfly Confetti die.
I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Weird and Wonderful (a favorite) on to the watercolor panel with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it with Gina K Designs Clear powder. Then, I adhered the butterflies and little dots with liquid adhesive. Look at the “fire,” from the holographic cardstock.
I added the watercolor panel to a cardbase made from Hero Arts Pitch Black cardstock. I put a panel of white cardstock inside the card, so there was a place to stamp a sentiment or write a note.
I just love the combination of the colorful splatters and the holographic cardstock.
Here is the bonus card.
Absolutely love it! This card was made using Concord & 9th’s Beautiful Butterfly dies. Trust me, I saved the die cut pieces for a reverse look too. The sentiment is from C&9th’s Butterfly Love. This is one of those cards that I’m not sure I can part with. Does that happen to you?
Thanks for stopping by and stay safe!
