MFT Gift!

Hello! I have some awesome news for you! MFT has generously created free digital downloads of 4 Birdie Brown stamp sets, (Doctor’s Orders, Super Hero in Scrubs, Bedside Manner and Call the Shots) until the end of April. The blog post with all of the details is here. I think MFT and Torico (illustrator of these sets) are amazing!!!

These are medical themed sets, and are perfect for creating cards for those on the frontlines of this pandemic. Other stamp companies are offering cute, free digital images. Check with your favorite stamp companies to see what they have.

I was really hoping to have finished cards for you, but I’m still keeping wind turbines running during the day. I can share what the digital downloads look like, and my about 75% cards. The one in the middle, on top, has sentiments to go with it, I had already cut them apart. How awesome are these?? My favorite sentiment is You’re a Super Hero in Scrubs!

These aren’t the best pictures (at night, in my studio) but you get an idea of what I am doing.

I colored the images with Copic markers, then cut them out using MFT’s Mod Rectangles. I’m going to mat the images with either glitter cardstock, foil cardstock, or some iridescent vellum. I used MFT stencils for the backgrounds. I combined the Star Celebration stencil with Brutus Monroe Unicorn Horn Glitter Glaze, the Small Brick Wall stencil with Gina K Designs Brilliant Blue Glitz Glitter Gel, and the Mini Staggered Circles with Nuvo glitter Paste in Plum Spinel.

I’m still trying to figure out how to get these cards to the medical professionals. I used to work in an Emergency Room, and I don’t remember seeing mail passed around. One idea was to reach out to the hospital’s volunteer auxiliary for advice. If you know of any contacts for hospitals in New York City, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by and stay safe!
