Love You Always- Simon Says Stamp

Happy half way through the week! I’m so happy you stopped by! Today I’m sharing the card I made for the Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday challenge (which ends this morning). The theme for this challenge was Anything Goes, using Brutus Monroe products. I don’t have any Brutus Monroe products, but after seeing Jennifer McGuires Favorite Crafty Things for 2019, I have my eye on a few.

I decided to use Simon Says Stamps products today, along with an Alcohol ink panel I made a couple of weeks ago. I apologize, as I’m not sure exactly what colors I used. I know I used Snow Cap mixative. I want to say this is Purple Twilight, or Villainous Pearls ink. The cardstock is Tim Holtz Matte Black Alcohol Ink cardstock. I added the Snow Cap first, then the pearls.

To make today’s card, I trimmed the panel down to 4″ by 5 1/4″. Using my MISTI, I stamped Simon Says Stamp’s You Are background stamp onto my panel with Tim Holtz Alcohol Lift ink. I made the mistake of wiping the panel instead of blotting, and smeared the ink the first time. I lifted the ink about three more times, blotting on those turns.

I set the panel aside to dry, and worked on the sentiment. Using SSS Love dies, I die cut the shadow from vellum, and the word from MFT’s Pure Plum Sparkle cardstock. I added them together with liquid adhesive. I figured out where I wanted the die cut sentiment, so I could add the stamped part of the sentiment. Back in my MISTI, I treated the panel with an anti-static tool, them stamped my sentiment with Versamark ink. I heat embossed it using Wow Opaque White Detail powder.

I added some back fun foam to my panel, then added it to a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base. I thought about adding gems (even got a second opinion from my son) but decided against it. I wanted the background to be the star of this card.

Thanks for stopping by!
