You Amaze Me-Hero Arts

Welcome back! Today I’m breaking the watercolor theme, to share the card I made for A Blog Named Hero’s January challenge. This month the theme is Anything Goes, everyone’s favorite!

I flipped through my Hero Arts set, to pick one to use. I really thought I was going to pick something to color. It’s been a while since I colored images, and I have the itch. Imagine my surprise when I kept going back to the set Concord & 9th designed for Hero Art’s 45 Anniversary, Props.

I started out by stamping the turnabout portion of the set 4 times with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink. While that was drying, I stamped the blue background for the sentiment, using Altenew’s Tide Blue ink. Then I stamped the sentiment itself with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink, and heat embossed it with Wow Hologram powder. I filled in the images on the blue background with Gold Shimmer, Rose Gold and Pink Delicata ink.

Using the coordinating Hero Arts Rounded Rectangles, I die cut the sentiment, and the turnabout background piece. I also die cut a the silver glitter layer with the Rounded Rectangles, from cardstock left over from a My Monthly Hero kit.

I added the sentiment to the turnabout background with fun foam, and the rest of the layers with Scor-Tape. The card base is Gina K Design’s Blue Raspberry.

These pictures are not doing justice to the embossing powder. It’s got a nice, rainbow glitter to it.

I’m on the fence about this card. I’ve been making so many intricate cards that this one feels a bit plain to me. It’s why I added the glitter layer. I like it, but don’t feel like it’s my best work.

Thanks for stopping by!
