Today I am sharing the card I made for MFT’s The Birthday Project Challenge for December. The current theme is Clean and Simple.
I kinda threw this card together at the last minute. I realized the deadline was approaching quickly. I also wanted to use images that I hadn’t used recently. I tend to reach for the same sets over and over again. I happened to have some images from MFT’s New Best Friend already colored.
I decided to use a new to me stencil, Star Celebration. I used the stencil to add Gina K Design Gold Glitz Glitter Gel to a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. While the gel was drying, I worked on the sentiment. I used the sentiment from the New Best Friend set, stamped on some Black Licorice cardstock with Versamark ink. I added some Wow Opaque White Detail embossing powder and heat set it. I used a Fishtail Sentiment strip for the shape.
Once the gel was dry, I added the little girl to the card panel with foam tape. Then, I added the sentiment. I added the completed card panel to a Black Licorice card base with fun foam.
I think this might be borderline clean and simple, but its still cute. The gold stars add the right amount of celebration.
