Be Merry- Hero Arts

Happy New Year! I wish you all the best of everything for 2020! I would also like to sincerely thank you for support over the last year. Having you here means so much to me.

I’m popping in today to share the card I made for A Blog Named Hero’s December challenge. This month the theme is *eek* Sparkle!!!

There were some Holiday themed cards that I ran out of time to make. One idea was using the My Monthly Hero October 2018 card kit. Well, here. Let me show you.

I have wanted to use the die from this kit since last year. I didn’t get to play much with the kit when it first came out, and missed out on using the die the first time around. For this card, I started out by die cutting the bauble openings from some of MFT’s Blueberry cardstock.

Next, I stamped the matching stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Gold powder. Oh, I forgot I blended some Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink on the panel before I die cut, to add a bit of dimension.

I lined up the Blueberry panel with a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base and traced the openings. Then I stamped the small images from the kit as they would fit, using a combination of Delicata inks, along with some brown Altenew inks. I added Glitter Nuvo Drops to some of the openings, and colored a few images with Copic markers. I stamped Be Merry in the larger opening at the bottom right.

I’m really glad that I took the time to make this card, even if Christmas was over. The idea was in my head, and I really wanted to just play. I got lucky in that the card ended up working for the challenge !

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy New Year!
