You’re My Happy- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hey there! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was filled with a lot of sleep, and a little bit of crafting. I’m trying not get too depressed, but being sick is starting to get old. I found out last week that I have Epstein-Barr reactivation. Apparently the virus that can cause Mono stays in your body and goes dormant. It can be reactivated whenever, usually if your immune system is low. I’ve been sick for weeks, this this past week being the worst (so far). I may have to take more time off from the blog, depending on my energy levels.

Enough of me feeling sorry for myself. The main reason for this post is to share the card I made for this week’s Simon Say’s Stamp Wednesday challenge. This week the challenge is Think Pink and the featured product is Pink and Main. I don’t have any Pink and Main products, but I do have a pink card. This one is actually a left over Squidgy Pal.

I had a pink stripped panel in my background stash (somehow this stack keeps getting bigger, even though I am using them…). This one was made by stamping Concord & 9th’s Sketched Strips on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock with Delicata Pink Shimmer ink.

The little girl is one of Stamping Bella’s Squidgy Pals, stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I created an anchor for her by die cutting a circle from vellum, running the edges over a Versamark pad and heat embossing it with Hero Arts Silver powder. I added the girl to the vellum circle with a tape runner.

I added the vellum circle to the stripped background with foam tape, hidden behind the girl. The sentiment is from Concord & 9th’s Lots to Say, stamped on a strip of Neenah with Altenew Jet Black ink. I tucked the sentiment behind the girl, and I used foam tape behind it.

The card base is Tickled Pink cardstock from MFT. I added the panel to the card base with a tape runner.

A quick and easy card, just what I needed.

Come back Friday, I’ll have part of that Christmas Post I promised you this weekend. I decided to break it up, since there are so many cards.

I’m thinking about doing a Christmas series this year, with a post every week that focuses on one stamp or set (like the Christmas Cheer turnabout). What do you think? I’ll start with the older stamp sets, then move towards the newer items. It’s going to be very Concord & 9th heavy, with some MFT and Hero Arts.

I find myself all over the place with ideas for Christmas cards, pulling out all sorts of different sets, then not knowing where to begin. If I focus myself to one main set each week, it should help me focus…

I’d really appreciate your feedback below. Let me know if there is a specific set that you need help with, or a technique you would like to see more of. No promises, but I may break out YouTube videos. It all depends on how much energy I have.

Thanks for stopping by!
