Surprise! I’m writing a quick post on a Sunday. And I mean quick! This post is to share the card I made for Pinkfresh Studio’s World Card Making Day Challenge #1, Favorite Technique. There is a second challenge, but I didn’t participate, as I ran out of steam. The theme for the second challenge is Jump Start to the Holidays.
Here is my card:

Of course my favorite technique is watercoloring embossed images. For this card I stamped the Partial Cut Floral Frame with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts silver embossing powder, on Distress watercolor cardstock. Oh, I did die cut the image first, as I didn’t want to mess up the heat embossing by die cutting later.
Next, I colored in the images with Altenew watercolors. When the panel dried, I added the sentiment from the set with more Versamark and heat embossed it. I wanted to add something else to the card, so I tried splattering Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink, but that didn’t do it.

So, I grabbed the Hero Arts iridescent spray. I love the subtle shimmer from the spray.
I added the watercolor panel to a Neenah card base, and tucked some tiny pieces of foam tape to prop up the partial die cuts.
I love this image, it’s so delicate and pretty. And as usual, Pinkfresh Studio has the best sentiments!
Thanks for stopping by!
Nicole
