Whoop! We’ve made if half way through the week, and this weekend is a long one! I’m taking Friday off from my day job, so it’s a four day weekend for me. Hoping to get some chores done around the house, but also lots of studio time.
Back to today. I’m sharing the card I made for Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 59, Something See-Through.

This one was tough for me. I was thinking about making a shaker card, but nothing seemed to click. I went to the Lawn Fawnatics challenge page for inspiration, and saw Karin’s card. It reminded me that I have some of Hero Arts Acetate cards. I used to love to make acetate cards, when I first started card making.

Those little bugs from Lawn Fawn’s Little Fireflies are so cute, I decided to use them again for this card, along with Lawn Fawn’s Bayou Backdrop. I die cut the border from a watercolor panel I had previously made with Green Nuvo Shimmer Powders. Then, I made the sky background by adding Violet Borcade and Storm Cloud Nuvo Shimmer Powders to a panel of Distress Watercolor cardstock and spritzing it with water. I dried the panel with my heat tool, then trimmed it down.

I stamped the little fireflies with Gina K Amalgam ink and colored it with Copic markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. For the sentiment, I used my anti static tool, stamped the sentiment from the firefly set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and embossed it with Gina K Clear powder. I also stamped the round stamp from the firefly set with Versamark and embossed it with Lawn Fawn’s Glow In The Dark powder.
I assembled the card, adding the bayou pieces with foam tape, and the fire flies with liquid adhesive. I centered the panel on the front of the acetate card with Scor-Tape. I also added panels of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock to both sides of the inside, to provide a place to write. One final panel went on the back.
This card brought back memories of making acetate cards. I need to get these out more often! Have you ever made an acetate card?
Thanks for stopping by!
