Happy Christmas-MFT Sketch Challenge 443

Hello! Thanks for spending some time with me today. Hopefully you’ll get a little laugh out of today’s post. I know the title suggest this card was inspired by MFT Sketch Challenge 443. Alas, it was not. It’s a testament to my lack of focus, and failure to think things through. No, today’s card was actually meant to be used for the Birthday Challenge. Yup, I made a Christmas card for the Birthday Challenge. Sigh. AND, don’t forget, this is the second card I thought I was making for the birthday challenge (check out Friday’s post for the first one).

Luckily, my design does fit (loosely) with the sketch for this week. Well, I’ll let you dedcide.

Here is the sketch:

I mean, my focal point is the center of the card, and there is a sentiment, just moved to the bottom…

Let’s get into the details. I started out with a MFT Summer Splash card base. I used the window die from the Snow Globe Shaker Window set to create the opening in my card front. Then I die cut the base piece from some Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Neutrals cardstock and adhered it with liquid adhesive.

For the inside, I cut down a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and used it to build the scene. I die cut the house from MFT’s Scenic Snow Globe set from more Summer Splash. I cut the larger tree from Gina K Design Christmas Pine, and the smaller tree from MFT Limeade. I die cut the rest of the pieces from more Neenah and colored them with Copic markers.

So, remeber how the theme for the Birthday Project is Peek-a boo? This card has a surprise inside.

For the rest of the scene, I cut the snow bank and snowman from Recollections white glitter cardstock. I adhered all of the pieces inside with a dot runner and a little bit of liquid adhesive.

Well, I made a birthday card, then I made a peek-a-boo Christmas card… Maybe third time is the charm?

Thanks for stopping by!
