Happy half way to the weekend day AND first day of May (gah already)! Sharing a really quick post today, as I’m going to overwhelm you with information on Friday!
Today’s post is for the A Blog Named Hero’s April Challenge. This month the theme is Clean and Simple. Perfect for someone who just made tons of busy Mother’s Day cards.

Here is my clean and simple masterpiece.

I wanted to use a stamp set I hadn’t really played with, so I went with the July 2018 My Monthly Hero kit. I really wanted to use the carousel, and originally was going to color it with pastel colors. However, when I finally got around to making the card, I went more traditional.
I stamped the image with Hero Arts Intense Black ink, colored it with Copic markers, cut it out with the matching die. Then I had to figure out what to do with the background…

I picked the sentiment I wanted to use from the set, then played around with different ideas for dry embossing shapes to anchor the image. I finally settled on circles, and used 2 circle dies from Spellbinders. When I was done I felt it was too plain, so I created a mask and blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink in the smaller circle. Then I add the carousel with foam tape.
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, then embossed with Wow Clear Hologram Sparkle powder. The card base is MFT’s Sno-Cone cardstock.
Clean, simple and quick, just want I needed after a crazy weekend of busy backgrounds. Check back in on Friday to see what I did with the busy backgrounds. Hint: it involves an upcoming holiday!
Thanks for stopping by!
