I Like The Way You Roll- Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 50

I hope you’re hungry! We are about to talk food. I know what your are thinking, “Nicole, this is a paper crafting blog, not cooking.” Well, you’re right. But, the current Lawn Fawnatic’s Challenge is all about Fun with Food, and I have to oblige.

After the unicorn extravaganza of Monday, I went a little more simple with this one. Kinda like my eyeballs needed a break, lol.

I originally planned to stamp and die cut these images (from Let’s Roll), but after playing with the stamps, I decided to mask instead. I started out by stamping the rolls and wasabi with Hero Arts Intense Black ink. Then I created masks with Post Its. I masked off the first layer, then stamped the wooden tray. After masking that off too, I stamped the soy sauce. I’m not a big fan of masking, but I can’t deny how good the results are!

Next, I carefully colored the images with Copic markers, ultra aware that if I messed up, I would wreck all my stamping. Fun times! Once I had everything colored, I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment from the same set. I added fun foam to the back of my panel, then added it to a card base made from Gina K Design’s Slate cardstock. That’s it! Very simple, if you don’t count the 15 minutes of panicked coloring. Oh, I almost forgot I added Glossy Accents to the soy sauce bottle.

I’m digging this card, and not just because I’m a fan of sushi. I like the simple design. Especially after the more complex cards I’ve made recently.

Thanks for stopping by!
