Uniquely Awesome-Hero Arts National Craft Month #3

Happy Hump Day! We are half way to the weekend! I’m popping in real quick to share my project for this week’s Hero Arts National Craft Month challenge,

This week the challenge is Decorate an Envelope (and send it)! I made a card, and then decorated a matching envelope.

I’ve had this aquarium shaker set from MFT for a while without getting a chance to play with it, and its started to tickle my brain. I stamped the fish images from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero May 2017 set with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I die cut them and set them aside.

I marked out the shape of the aquarium on a second panel and blended Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink on the background. Then I stamped the coral images from the Hero Arts kit with Altenew’s Mountain Pine, Just Green, Warm Sunshine and Heart Beat inks. I added the colored fish with liquid adhesive along with some random die cuts I had. I layered acetate over the scene, then started in the front panel.

I die cut the aquarium opening from the middle of the panel, and added the sentiment from Hero Art’s Weird and Wonderful set. I die cut the border for the aquarium from some wood grain cardstock from a previous Hero Arts kit.

Next, I assembled the card. I used Scor-Tape to add the MFT rectangle shaker pouch to the front panel. Then I added more Scar-Tape to the panel. I added some Lucy’s Cards clear and blue gems to the scene, and laid the front panel over the scene. I finished up the card with a Gina K Design’s Sea Glass card base and matching envelope. I decorated the envelope with the coral stamps and Altenew’s Teal Cave ink.

I’m glad I was able to get this card together. It’s been in the back of my head for a while now, pushing to get out. It came out pretty well too, which isn’t always the case :).

Thanks for stopping by!
