You Are Wonderful-Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge

Hey guys! First off, I have to apologize. I filmed my Hero Arts Kit unboxing as well as a review of my Concord and 9th order Wednesday night and I did something wrong and couldn’t use any of the footage. I’m not sure what happened, I followed the same steps I always use, but it’s all bad. I might try to redo the C&9th stuff, but Jennifer McGuire reviewed a lot of what I wanted to share, so I’m not sure it’s necessary.

Ok, let’s get into the good stuff! I’m sharing the card I made for this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday challenge. This week the challenge is Clean and Simple (almost as good as anything goes). The products highlighted are Hero Arts!

It’s funny because I had a pretty Hero Arts focused weekend, but most of the cards were not clean and simple. So, I thought I’d go old school, and use a set I haven’t played with in a while.

Yup, I got out the mermaids! The images from the My Monthly Hero May 2017 kit are so much fun to color. This lovely lady was stamped with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I just realized that I forgot to add clear Wink of Stella! You can’t have a mermaid without shimmery scales.

For the background I blended Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink using the stencil from the same kit as the mermaid. I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve used this stencil!

I kept the stencil in place and applied Moonstone Nuvo Glitter Paste over the Oxide ink. Then I set that aside to dry and worked on the sentiment.

I stamped the sentiment from the MMH kit onto a piece of vellum with Versaclair Nocturne ink, then heat embossed using Wow’s Holographic Sparkle embossing powder.

Next, I trimmed the sentiment down to a strip. When the background was dry, I wrapped the strip around it, using double sided adhesive on the back of the panel to hold it in place.

The mermaid was added with foam circles, to give the card some dimension. The card base is MFT’s Sno-Cone.

I really do enjoy coloring these mermaids. In fact, I stamped and colored the three mermaid images from the set just in case I need one in the future.

Check back later in the week, I’ll be sharing another Hero Arts Card, for the A Blog Named Hero’s challenge. That card is neither clean or simple. I have a bonus card too (I told you I played a lot with Hero Arts this weekend). I already shared a shaped card I made from the new kit on my Instagram.

Thanks for stopping by!
