You’re In My Thoughts-Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge

Hello and I hope happy Monday! I’m stuck at the draw bridge on my way to work, so putting together a quick blog post for you. Don’t you love modern technology (please forgive the typos lol).

This week the challenge was Something New, with Simon Products. So either use something new you received or make a card for something new (baby, job etc.).

I went with using something new. I’ve used it before, but with the new product palloza since September, not all that much.

I kept this card really simple as I’m struggling with missing mojo. I took one of my surplus backgrounds (this one is Distress Watercolor cardstock that had been dabbed into the leftover watercolor…sludge?….overflow?…from playing with Brusho and Nuvo Shimmer Powder, mostly black Brusho here).

I stamped the large image from SSS’s Sketched Flowers set with Versaclair Nocturne ink and heat embossed with Wow Holographic Sparkle embossing powder. I wanted the embossing to sort of mirror the multi color background.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the kit with Altenew Jet Black ink. Then I trimmed the panel down and added it to a card base made of MFT’s Periwinkle cardstock with fun foam. The envelope is a metallic Lavender envelope from SSS. I did add some Purple Rain Nuvo Glitter Drops after I took this picture, but you can’t really see them with the crazy background.

Technically I did use something new, as I used my new Tim Holtz Tonic Glass Media mat to make this (really I assembled this card on top of it lol). I have to tell you, it’s a game changer! Honestly, I recommend it to any one. In fact, I’ll put a blog post together next week that will explain why I love it. However I encourage you to check out the videos on YouTube about it. I know Tim has a few and I believe Jennifer McGuire made one as well.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week!
