Hello and happy Friday! I hope you had a short and good week! I’m taking a quick break to share the card I made for December’s A Blog Named Hero Challenge.
This month, the challenge theme is Winter.
I had some images left over from the October My Monthly Hero kit, and decided to use those for this card.
I already had the tree, deer and raccoon colored. I new I wanted to use the birds too, so I stamped those with Hero Arts Intense Black ink and colored with Copic markers, along with the star.
Using MFT’s Snow Drift dies, I cut the snow bank from Lawn Fawn’s Pixie Dust cardstock. I also used MFT’s Cloud Stencil to add some really light clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. Once I had all the pieces, I laid them out and figured out the placement for the sentiment.
Then I stamped the sentiment with Altenew’s Jet Black ink. Then I adhered all the pieces with Scor-Tape. I was careful to adhere the tree so that I could still…fluff?… up the branches.
Instead of working on a card panel and then adding it to a card base, I worked right on the card base with this card. I wanted to have as much surface space as I could to make the scene. Plus, still on a some what clean and simple kick.
Oh, I added Glossy Accents to the lights on the raccoon. Little details π
I still have some left over die cuts from this set… I think I might put a few more winter themed cards together. Or, save them for next year. I’m already hip deep in Valentines day, thanks to Concord and 9th.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Nicole
