September – Desk Calendar

Hello! I’m a little late,  I shared this layout on Instagram on Friday.  I gave into my cold for a few days, which helped tons, I feel a lot better today!

So, here’s is a quick post with the details on entry for A Blog Named Hero’s October Challenge. The challenge this month was a color inspiration challenge.

Here is the inspiration image:

I was planning on using the My Monthly Hero kit for my September layout, and I thought this was a good opportunity to out it together, using the inspiration colors.

I stamped the images with Hero Arts Intense Black ink, and colored them with Copic markers. Then I die cut the images with the matching dies. I’ll go into further details on how I made the calendar squares un a later post, but it is a combination of Altenew’s 365 and Waffle Flowers Calendar Stamp set. Before I added the images and the calendar, I blended Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink with the stencil from the December 2017 My Monthly Hero kit diagonally across the background. Then I adhered the calendar and images.

Eventually I’ll mat the panels to another piece of cardstock. Last year I used either glitter or foil cardstock, but I had only made one desk calendar. This time I’m making 7, which means 84 pieces of glitter or foil… not sure I’m willing to sacrifice that much glitter lol. You’ll get to see what I decide in a couple of weeks, once I have these finished.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back in the morning with the card I made for this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge.
