Welcome back! I am so looking forward to a restful weekend. Last weekend was a bit hectic. I’m hoping to get a lot of card making in, and maybe finally paint the trim in the downstairs bathroom.
Today’s card was inspired by Altenew’s September Inspiration challenge.
Here is the inspiration image:
Aren’t those colors gorgeous?
Here is my card:
I started out by taking some Distress Watercolor cardstock and adding a wash of Altenew’s Industrial Diamond watercolor. Then I started die cutting and gluing like my life depended on it.
I cut Altenew’s Layered Roses flowers from Gina K Design’s Lovely Lavender, MFT’s Periwinkle, and MFT’s Pure Plum Sparkle cardstock, and glued them together with Lawn Fawn’s liquid glue. I die cut the leaves from Gina K’s Lucky Clover, MFT’s Limeade and Cool as Cucumber, and glued them together as well. As you can see, I use the negative and positives to make 2 flowers.
Once the watercolor panel was dry I layered the roses and leaves with Scor-Tape. Then I stamped the sentiment from Altenew’s Build a Flower-Rose set with Versafine ink and heat embossed in clear.
I added the water color panel to a Gina K Design’s Loverly Lavender card base. I didn’t add any gems, since there was so much sparkle from the cardstock.
I was really happy with how this card turned out. It’s fun to make a card with almost all die cuts, although it’s a lot of work to glue all those bits.
Thanks for stopping by!
