Sparkle & Shine

Welcome back! Today I’m sharing the card I made for the Where Creativity Meets C9 June challenge. This card also uses my favorite item from Concord and 9ths’s June release, the Stars Turnabout Stamp and die bundle!

My apologies about the gray images. I took these pictures in front of my sliding glass door, but didn’t realize the tinting on the door was turning my pictures gray. By the time I figured it out, I had already mailed the card :(.

I created the background by stamping the Star Turnabout in Delicata Shimmery Silver, Altenew Sea Breeze and Turquoise inks. Instead of using a fourth ink, I used the matching Die to cut the fourth “turn.” I layered MFT’s Silver Sparkle cardstock behind the stars.

I have to mention, this was by far the easiest Turnabout Stamp for me to set up and use. I seem to have a mental block when it comes to adding the lines to the back of the stamps, and setting them up with a turn table. This one was a breeze!

Next I got out the Hooray Ribbon set and made the ribbon for our birthday boy. This card was made especially for my children’s half brother, and we knew it was going to arrive late, so we decided to go big!

I stamped the solid Hooray in the matching Altenew ink on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock and die cut it using the circle in the Hooray Ribbon set. I die cut the round part of the ribbon from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock as well and pleated it. The rest of the ribbon was cut from Neenah, stamped and assembled.

I added the panel to a Gina K Design’s Blue Raspberry Card base, and stamped the Happy Birthday from the Hooray Ribbon kit on the inside. The envelope is Simon Say’s Stamps Island Blue, which goes perfectly with the Raspberry Blue.

Between the Silver Sparkle cardstock and the Delicata Silver ink, there is just the right amount of shine, yet not overwhelming for a pre-teen boy! I was really happy with how the card turned out!

I was so happy with the star Turnabout that I left the stamp in my Tim Holtz stamping platform! I plan on using it quiet a bit and will have a post soon with more cards. I also got to play really quickly with the City Stacks bundle and can’t wait to share more!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
