My Monthly Hero April Kit

Hello and happy Monday! I finally have the unboxing post I promised you, for the April My Monthly Hero kit. My apologies for the tardiness, I’ve been working tons of overtime lately!

What is in the kit, you ask. All this:

APRIL KIT INCLUDES:

► – 6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set

► – 20 Coordinating Frame Cuts Dies

► – 1 Ornate Floral Border Die

► – 3 Reactive Ink Cubes (Fiesta Red, Fiesta Teal, Fiesta Yellow)

► – 3 6″ x 18″ Sheets Unryu Paper (Assorted Colors)

Let’s get to it!

I love that blue tissue paper, and I tried really hard to save it, but no luck. Those ribbons are really pretty too, and I managed to keep my cat from eating these (so far).

Here is a closer look at the two bundles in the kit.

The stamp set is super cute! I couldn’t wait to color that bird at the bottom, along with the donkey. There are some great and unusual sentiments too!

There is the Ornate Floral border die on the right (with smaller dies in it). I haven’t tried it out yet, but I think it’s gorgeous.

The Unryu paper is so vibrant, and had great texture. The reactive inks are also really pretty. I believe the reactive part means they interact with water, but  I haven’t played with them yet. I did see an Instagram post that Hero Arts shared, where someone used them as watercolors.

I did create a really quick card with the kit, using a background I had previously made with Distress Oxide inks and watercolor paper.

The background was made with Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks. I colored the donkey with Copic markers, and added him to the card with foam tape. I stamped Fiesta Time in Versafine Onyx ink and heat embossed it with Wow Holographic Sparkle powder. I added some purple Lucy’s Cards jewels to finish it off (and cover a spot where I smeared black ink). The card base is MFT’s Boysenberry.

That’s my quick post for today. Hope you had a great weekend, and talk to you again soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
