Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge #17

Woot! Hello weekend! Let’s dive in with Challenge #17 from Where Creativity Meets C9!

Challenge 17 is to use your oldest Concord and 9th set. I haven’t been crafting for that long, so my set isn’t that old. But, it was what drew me into C9 and their innovative products. Who could resist Many Mandala?

When I sat down to work on this challenge, I ended up with three cards. I’m entering my favorite into the challenge, but I will share them all here.

First up:

Boy, was it sunny when I took this picture! This was a design I had been meaning to execute since I first got this set. I finally stamped out the layers a couple of weeks ago, when I was struggling with a creative block. I used Delicata Pink Shimmer ink for all the layers, and Silver Shimmer for the sentiments. The different layers are popped up with Fun Foam, for tons of dimension! Pretty Pink Posh’s Sparking Clear Confetti finish off the card.

Here is a picture where the light isn’t so bright.

My second card is very similar to this one. In fact, I stamped the layers for all three cards at the same time.

For this card, I stamped the different layers in Delicata Pink and Silver Shimmer ink. I skipped the fun foam on every layer and only added it to the bottom, before adding it to the card base (Gina K Design’s Moonlit Fog). Instead of adding the smallest layer, I stamped the sentiment in silver, along with a sub sentiment on a small strip. Lucy’s Cards Sparkling Bridal Mix accent the card.

My final card is a little different.

Originally I stamped the mandala layers all together on MFT Kraft cardstock, with Delicata Ruby Red Shimmer ink (the outer layer was stamped with White Delicata ink first, and then over it with the red, that’s why it looks a little different). I decided to die cut two of the layers and tilt them, to add some interest (that and I realized I had stamped my sentiment on the inside layer crooked). I stamped the center sentiment and the one at the bottom right in Altenew Jet Black ink. I added Lucy’s Cards Cherry Jewels to accent the card.

I really had a  lot of fun with this challenge. When I pulled out all of my Concord and 9th sets and realized the Mandalas were the oldest, I got really excited. As I mentioned before, I had so many ideas when I first got this set, and then I was distracted by new things and never took the time to go back and play. This is such an innovative and imaginative set, I  love it!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
