Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge

Congratulations on making it halfway through the week! I’m counting down the days until my Christmas vacation starts to get me through. How about you?

This week the SSS Wednesday Challenge is to make a card featuring food or drink, and the focus products are Mama Elephant. This was a bit of a stretch to me, as the only Mama Elephant products I have with food are the candy canes in Wooly Winter, or carrots in Plushoween. Given the impending holiday, I went with my wooly friends.

I had already planned to use MFT’s Starry Circle with the lambs, so decided to do that here. I had previously made a bunch of sky panels with Distress Oxide inks (Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio and a little Broken China). I used these particular colors as I was working on incorporating a little bit of the Northern Lights into it. I grabbed one of these pre-made panels to die cut the sky on this card.

I stamped the lamb image and candy cane in Altenew’s Permeant Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb., and colored it with Copic markers. I die cut the image and added fun foam to it. I layered the sky circle over a sliver glitter circle so the glitter peeks through the stars. Then I added the lamb, and tucked the candy cane underneath. I added the sentiment “Warmest Wishes,” from the Hero Arts November kit. I added Ruby Slippers Nuvo Glitter drops to his nose, and Ebony drops to his eyes. I colored the bell on his collar with Silver Wink of Stella.

The card base is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb, and I added the panel to the card base with fun foam.

I thought this card was cute and fun, although the candy cane looks a little awkward. I may take it off, I’m not sure yet. But, that is the food for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole
