Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today is the start of vacation for me, from my day job. It hasn’t sunk in yet, but I’m sure it will by the time I have to go back!
This week the sketch was pretty simple.
So simple, I guess I felt I had to switch it up a bit 🙂
Here is my card, with the brand new New Best Friend stamp set
I stamped the little girl with a puppy in Altenew’s Permanent ink and colored with Copic markers (been a little while since I got the markers out). I die cut the image with the matching die and set it aside.
I had the square frame already cut out in MFT’s Silver Sparkle cardstock. I tried the square in the traditional position, but it seemed plain, so I turned it. Then I decided to blend some Distress Oxide in Broken China where the diamond would be. Since I didn’t mask the area, it didn’t go well. Then I decided to mask of a strip across the panel. I probably could have turned the square back around after I added the ink, but I liked the different shape!
I adhered the diamond with foam tape. Then I layered the little girl over the diamond and used foam tape where it didn’t overlap the diamond.
I used MFT Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips for the sentiment. I like to use the smallest one, and layer it in glitter paper with the next size up. I did that here, but then it was too big to really fit over the girl. I trimmed it down a bit, to make it fit better. I added some Silver Confetti sequins to finish the card. The card base is MFT Snow Cone. As you can see, I added a matching envelope with a puppy from the kit, stamped in Altenew’s Jet Black ink.
I was brimming over with Christmas ideas this weekend, and decided to save time and use this card for the Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge as well. The challenge this week is Furry Friends, using Newton’s Nook products. I do have a Newton’s Nook set, but it’s golf themed and really for Father’s Day or masculine cards. Even though the image is a bear, I just wasn’t feeling it (no Christmas potential lol). I’m going to use this card for the SSS challenge instead.
Thanks for stopping by!
