MFT 2017 Card Design Superstar

First off, we were so incredibly lucky! We are not flooded, no damage, and we still have power. So many people in Florida were not so lucky and we are keeping them in our prayers.

Just a quick post to share a card I made for MFT’s Card Design Superstar contest. This contest is different from their weekly challenge as the winners will be chosen via defined criteria instead of random drawing.

The Card Design challenge has three available design styles: 1) Clean and Simple Genius, 2) Coloring Virtuoso, 3) Innovation Master.

There are specific rules for this contest, as the rewards are pretty good. Here is the link to the rules.

I choose to go with the clean and simple challenge.

All MFT products used (except for Copic markers).

I used the largest Scallop Stitched Rectangle Frame Die to cut a panel out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. Then I used the Big Hugs die on the white panel. I tucked a dragon from Magical Dragons into the H, and he’s holding the cut out letter. The princess is adhered with fun foam.

I blended some Broken China Distress Oxide ink on another panel of Neenah Solar White, spritzed it with water and then Sparkle Spray. That was placed behind the die cut Hugs and adhered it with foam tape.

The card base was made from MFT Sno Cone cardstock.

This is my first Hurricane Irma card. I didn’t make a whole lot as I had packed up my supplies and I couldn’t really concentrate. But, I did color everyday. I played around with different watercolor techniques and will share those with you later this week.

Please keep all those effect by Irma in your thoughts, as well as those still dealing with Hurricane Harvey. Jennifer McGuire is working on something to help those in need and I will share what that is when she announces it.

Thanks for stopping by!
