Simon Says Stamps Heart Sprinkle Trail Die

Confession! I am obsessed with this new die. As soon as I saw it, a card design popped into my head. I can totally see this die with fairies, unicorns, and dragons. Not only that, it is beautiful all on it’s own. Jennifer McGuire featured it on her blog (I am so glad I ordered it before, it probably sold out after that). Ok, here is my vision:

I used Lawn Fawn’s Fairy Friends, which I had stamped and colored earlier. I also used Pure Plum Sparkle paper from MFT, along with some Lucy’s Cards jewels and Nuvo drops. I layered the die four times on this cards. Below is a picture where you can see the dimension. This is the technique Jennifer McGuire showed with this die, and one I use with word dies.

I used the negative space from one of the die cuts to position the die cuts. I used the hearts and the large and medium circles. I substituted Nuvo drops and jewels for the smaller circles.

I used MFT’s Boysenberry ink to stamp the sentiment from the Fairy set, then realized there was still quiet a bit of “white space,” between the sentiment and the die cut, so I added Happy Birthday underneath (I can’t remember what stamp set this is from). The card base is MFT Boysenberry, to match the ink (I love those types of details).

I loved this so much, I did it again!

This time I used the Cotton Candy Sparkle paper, and Gina K design Bubblegum Pink card stock for the card base. I was more careful with where I stamped the sentiment, so I put the “Happy Birthday,” inside. Since I used black card stock, I heat embossed the sentiment in white. I used the jewels and Nuvo Drops again. I’m so happy with these cards! I paired both cards with Metallic shimmer envelopes from Simon Says Stamps, one in Cotton Candy and one in Lavender.

Thank you Simon Says Stamps, for getting me out of my creative funk! Actually, I think finally getting the MFT Scribble Roses to work helped too.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July in the US. Please have a fun and safe day! Watch out for the heat and sun!
