Backgrounds with Distress Oxide Inks

I was inspired by the announcement of new distress oxide ink colors to get out my set and play with them. I used the “smooshing” technique and had so much fun I ended up with tons of panels!

I used mostly Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Fired Brick and Broken China. As you can see I already cut up a panel before I took pictures. Aren’t they gorgeous!

I layered several colors, smooshing, drying with my heat gun and then smooshing again. For a couple of panels I added more water and it thinned out the color. Here are some close ups.

Here is the card I made with the piece I cut up.

I’m really excited for the new colors! Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers are my favorite!
